The Chapel dedicated to King Charles Tunbridge Wells

Back in 1676 funding to build a chapel dedicated to King Charles The Martyr started in Tunbridge Wells. Next to the chapel was a charity school with around 50 boys and girls. Letitia Bryne

Over the year the chapel was enlarged and by 1688 more funding needed for its expansion. The chapel transformed between 1880 and 1889 the old school room behind then was replaced by a sanctuary and furnished with bits from the newly demolished wren church of all hallows.
